100% follower growth in 12 months:

In our third Social Studies community event, we chatted with Abby White from Inflow.

Inflow is an app that helps people manage their ADHD.

In the last year, she’s doubled their Instagram following from 75 to 150k.

Here are the big takeaways:

1) Repurpose. Repurpose. Repurpose.

Your most successful content in the future might be the same as the most successful content in the past.

Repurposing content also provides a route to take some of the pressure off the content creator.

2) Measure everything.

If you can clearly explain the value of your what you do and point to a positive ROI, you’ll never have to worry about career trajectory.

3) There is a risk/reward matrix with memes.

Edgy startup? Maybe it’s worth it to cut to a clip from The Office.

Fortune 100 company? Probably not.

It’s all about communicating with leadership to discern the balance.

4) It’s ok to go through a wild experimentation phase.

To get results that nobody else is getting, you have to create content that nobody else is creating.

5) Details matter.

Font, font size, font color, sound volume. It all impacts performance.

If you can get granular and figure out what moves the needle, you have a shortcut to quicker growth.

6) Quality or quantity?

Obviously both.

But if you had to choose one, Abby says opt for quantity.

Why? Because quantity usually leads to quality on it’s own.

7) Take care of yourself.

Burnout is real.

It doesn’t matter how impressive your results are if you’re miserable in the process.

Go outside.

Find community.

Turn the phone off.
