What’s the backstory of how you got into social media?

I went to school at the University of Missouri and studied journalism.

After graduating I worked in marketing at the ag school, which was a blast, but my wife and I had just got married and wanted to do something new and go somewhere different.

I cast a wide net and applied for 200 jobs across the country.

The job that stuck was for a Social Media Specialist position at YouVersion (the Bible app) in Oklahoma City.

I was wildly unqualified and probably had no business even reading the job description, but they rolled the dice and hired me.

I got lucky and got to learn from some absolutely incredible marketers.
