Should you build the business account or the founder's account?

The person or the brand?

Good morning!

Welcome to Social Studies.

Here’s the agenda for this week today:

  • People follow people

I’ve recently started working with Leif who restores and sells high end Mid-Century Modern furniture.

We were chatting about the balance between the brand and the individual.

Should we lean into Revision Furniture or should we lean into Leif?

My 2 cents is that Leif IS Revision Furniture.

For now, he’s the only one sourcing, restoring, selling, etc. When you buy a piece from Revision Furniture, there is a 100% chance that people are going to be interacting with Leif from start to finish.

At the end of the day… people do business with people that they like, know, and trust. It’s our job to create content accordingly.

If you run a brand or corporate account, this is admittedly a harder balance, but the point remains true.

How can you find ways to make the account and the people who are featured, regular, approachable, and familiar.

Side note… Leif posted this banger last week. Great example of what I’m talking about. His product plays a front and center role, but you see Leif and the time and care he puts into each piece. If you read the caption, you get the vibe that he’s telling you about his work as you sit across from him at the coffee shop.

Have a great weekend!

Hey! You’re still here!
