Allow me to (re)introduce myself…
I've gained some new subscribers and realized that I don’t have any real welcome email that tells who I am.
So I thought I'd reintroduce myself:
-I'm the Head of Social Media @Benzinga (Last year we grew by ~450K followers)
-I previously ran social media at YouVersion (Grew by ~2.5M followers in 2.5 years)
-I've worked with some dope brands like The Skit Guys, Sony Music, Gloirfy, the team behind CSLewisDaily, Tyson Foods, and Vista Social.
-In 2019 I had a hunch that hyperlocal media was making a comeback. I launched two brands, grew them to ~30K followers and sold them to a team that has done more with them than I ever could have pulled off.
-I paid for college by filming wedding videos. That company was acquired in 2020 (and by that I mean I sold my camera on craigslist)
-I write this newsletter called Social Studies that I send to ~10K social media pros every week
-I married my high school sweetheart and we have 3.99 kids. My highest calling in life is being their dad and helping them fall in love with Jesus.
My content here is a healthy mix of mediocre dad jokes, banger memes, and the occasional valuable insight for social media marketers.
Welcome aboard 🚢

Side note… If you’re RFP'ing a social media management platform, add Vista Social to your list:
