Dave Ramsey's Social Media Audit
And other Tuesday musings:
Welcome to Social Studies.
Today:
Dave Ramsey's Social Media Audit
The Social Media Strategies Summit is happening virtually February 26-27th.
More than 20 speakers from National Geographic, Hershey, Kendra Scott, First Advantage, Talkdesk, Nestle, and more.
I’ve personally spoken at this summit multiple times and 100% vouch for it.
Topics include social strategy, case studies, paid social, content creation, brand collaborations and AI.

(I’m personally incredibly excited to hear from:
Jordan Tennenbaum [Head of Social @ Talkdesk]
Bria Bell [Senior Marketing Strategist at J.P. Morgan]
and my good friend Jon-Stephen Stansel!)
I love the social team of Dave Ramsey and Ramsey Solutions.
To say that they're crushing it is a vast understatement.
I've talked a ton about how incredible they are at:
-fostering community
-uniting around a mission
-using storybrand/guide format
But here are 5 uncapitalized opportunities:
1/ Your cover image is PRIME real estate.
Use it like your life depended on it.
You can even use birdy(.)so to A/B test how effective different photos are at converting viewers to followers.
For Dave I'd try a few different one-liners.
"Get out of debt. Fast."
"Financial freedom is a follow away."
"Helping you become a baby step millionaire."
2/ Dat bio tho...
Is it impressive that Dave wrote 8 bestsellsers?
Heck yeah it is!
But is it the MOST impressive? Probably not.
When Dave preached at my church I remember him dropping some crazy stat about how many people his organization has helped get out of debt.
I'd lead with that.
"I've helped XXX MILLION people get out of debt and build wealth. Are you next?"
Not 100% sure about the "are you next" line, but something to bring the reader in and invite them on a journey.
Then the rest of the bio add the other stuff:
"Author (8 Bestsellers) | Host of RamseyShow/EntreLeadership "
and then:
"My incredible team: RachelCruze, KenColeman, johndelony, GeorgeKamel, JadeWarshaw"
3/ Go for gold
No secret that X is pushing verified orgs.
From where I sit, there are a couple reasons that they should upgrade.
a. Looks cleaner.
Now I fully recognize that Dave would tear me a new one (rightfully so) for suggesting he spend 10 grand because it looks better.
But... there's something to be said about brand ubiquity.
Pop for the verified org and now the whole team can have the ramsey logo in their name.
b. Ad credts
X is giving out ad credits like tic tacs to verified orgs.
Their standard offer is when you spend 10k you get 12k in ad credits, but I'd bet they could negotiate a much better deal.
4/ Pin it!
Pin something at the top of the feed.
What's the first step you want someone to take?
Sign up for a newsletter? Start a free trial of something?
Make it as easy as possible for people to find their next step.
Heck I'd even call that out in the post that you pin.
"New here? Your first step is click here and......"
5/ Ramp it up
The content volume on X is wayyy less than it is on their other platforms.
I'm sure they have a good reason for that, but in my uneducated and uninformed opinion, I'd say take all that content that you're posting everywhere else and throw it on here.
X looks way different than it used to. Try videos. Try images.
The correlation between posting frequency and follower growth is undeniably positive.

I read Total Money Makeover when I was 16 and it forever shaped my view of personal finance.
Without a doubt, I am wealthier because of Dave Ramsey.
Do I agree with 100% of what Dave says? Of course not, but there's no arguing with the fact that millions of people are living better lives because of his organization's work.
