Level Up Your Social Media Strategy This April

Master the art of crafting a social strategy and turning challenges into opportunities. This small group training from the American Marketing Association connects you with peers facing similar questions around defining your social media purpose and measuring impact. Move beyond theories and build practical strategies that achieve your goals.

My master plan…

The other day in the Social Studies community, someone asked, “What strategies went in to becoming a Linkedin thought leader in the social media space?”

Here was my answer…

This is the part where I reveal that there was no strategy lol.

When I started my job at Tyson, I quickly realized that my creative lane was narrow.

I felt like I would get worse at sm if I wasn't doing something on the side.

I started writing on LI everyday as a way to be creative and made the commitment that I'd go for a full 12 months and see what happened.

Nothing happened for the first 10 months, but then I had a post pop and growth really picked up.

The post that popped was a "relatable" post about the life of a smm.

Got me thinking that this profession is unique and we all share similar experiences.

I started wanting to shift some of the LI audience to a newsletter (and eventually this community) where we could talk about that.

Literally everyone thinks they know how to do social and I couldn't find a network of vetted people that could share experiences and tips and tricks.

Same thing with events... I felt like at all of the big conferences, I was getting more value from the people NEXT to me, not IN FRONT of me.

I don't really want to hear from the CMO of insert tech company here.

I want to talk to a smm who is in the trenches doing cool stuff and has takeaways that will help me with my job TODAY.

If you’re interested, check it out.

Hey you’re still here!
