One post grew our IG by over 70k followers:
A week ago, the social team at Benzinga posted a Reel on IG.
As of me writing this, here are the stats:
Reach: 7.8 million
Interactions: 933k
Follows: 70.4k
I’m going to link it below, but I want to give a quick breakdown of why I think it worked:
1) The idea
One of our team members saw an idea that made him think of this edit.
To create great social content, you have to consume great social content.
AND you have to be able to connect the two.
2) The edit
Our IG channel manager has been meticulously monitoring the data.
He can tell you to use this font vs that font, that size text vs this size text, and on and on.
When you can pair a great idea with optimized edits… Boom.
3) The timing
This same video posted next week probably wouldn’t do 10% of those numbes.
Why?
It won’t be relevant.
In my experience, one of the most important factors of success on social is being able to move quickly and produce timely, relevant content.
The video:
I wish we had a Manychat integration set up so that we could convert those followers to newsletter subscribers.
But… we have it set up now and are working on making the most of the attention and have put ourselves in a great spot if when it happens again.
Hey you’re still here!
