Good morning!

Welcome to Social Studies.

Here’s my formula for auditing your social tech stack:

You can (easily) launch a newsletter too

This newsletter you couldn’t wait to open? It runs on beehiiv — the absolute best platform for email newsletters.

Our editor makes your content look like Picasso in the inbox. Your website? Beautiful and ready to capture subscribers on day one.

And when it’s time to monetize, you don’t need to duct-tape a dozen tools together. Paid subscriptions, referrals, and a (super easy-to-use) global ad network — it’s all built in.

beehiiv isn’t just the best choice. It’s the only choice that makes sense.

THE TECH STACK AUDIT (DO THIS QUARTERLY)

Every 3 months, ask yourself:

For each tool:

  • Did I use this in the last 30 days?

  • Does this save me at least 1 hour per month?

  • Could I do this another way for cheaper?

  • If I canceled it, would I notice?

If you answered "no" to 2+ questions: Cancel it.

Pro tip: Set calendar reminders before annual renewals. That's when you can negotiate or switch to monthly to test if you really need it.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Your tech stack should:

  1. Save you time (measurably)

  2. Improve your output quality

  3. Cost less than it saves you in hours

If a tool doesn't meet all three criteria, cut it.

Add from there only when you have a specific problem to solve.

And please, for the love of all that is holy, cancel subscriptions you're not using.

Your (or your company) credit card statement will thank you.
